Can you play sonic generations with a keyboard

I just use my PS3 controller and download some third party drivers for it to work as a gamepad. I finished the whole game with the keyboard. I actually prefer to use keyboard to play any PC game.

But I think it's still safer to play Generations with a gamepad, especially at high-speed areas, cuz it's easier to steer and do the quickstep. Here's my configured settings I tried to follow the default keyboard settings for Sonic Heroes for the A, B.
